Maybe I just need a new CPU, but PipeWire is not the best. Every time I run a game, not even an intensive one, like Touhou, the audio server begins to crackle.
Here is a solution that resolves the buffer underrun crackling:
Create a user configuration for PipeWire:
mkdir -p ~/.config/pipewire/
cp /usr/share/pipewire/pipewire.conf ~/.config/pipewire/
nano ~/.config/pipewire/pipewire.conf
Uncomment and adjust the buffer quantum settings in the configuration:
default.clock.quantum = 32
default.clock.min-quantum = 16
default.clock.max-quantum = 768
Restart PipeWire and WirePlumber to apply changes:
systemctl --user restart pipewire pipewire-pulse wireplumber pipewire-socket
